Did you know eSportics lets participants self-manage the competition? It’s very simple: players submit their match results and the rounds are configured automatically.
Here’s a step-by-step of how a player submits a match result, so you don’t have to worry about managing the tournament’s results.
For a player to enter a result
- First, the player logs in with their username and password.
- Once in their profile, they find the competition under “My current competitions”.
- Clicking the competition expands the matches they’ll play in that tournament. They find the match whose result they want to enter.
- The player clicks the “Edit result” button.
- A box appears to enter the result. Once entered, they click “Request approval”.
- A confirmation message appears at the top of the screen: “Result proposal saved successfully. An email has been sent to the opposing team’s captain”.
- If the player looks up the match again, they’ll see the result has been saved. They can also reopen “Edit result” to change it as many times as needed (as long as the opponent hasn’t accepted or rejected it).
For a player to accept or reject a result
- The player logs in and finds the competition under “My current competitions”.
- They find the match and the option to accept or reject the result appears.
- If they accept it, a confirmation message appears and rankings and brackets update automatically.
- If they reject it, a message confirms the discrepancy and announces the organizer’s mediation. In that case, rankings and brackets won’t update until an agreement is reached.
Notifications
- When a participant sends a result proposal to their opponent, the opponent gets an email notification.
- When the opponent accepts the result, whoever sent it gets an email confirming it was accepted.
- When the opponent rejects it, whoever sent it gets an email about it — and the organizer gets a notice to mediate the conflict.
